When The Millennials Turn 50
Plus, Swedish death cleaning...
Hi,
My son's nursery is closed this week for "the holidays". That means more being-a-responsible-parent time than is normally bearable.
Hence, no long story this week, just a few article links for your procrastilearning pleasure. Hope you like them.
1. How to write like anyone
The guys from Ship30for30 have a project called Write with AI, and in this blog post, the productivity guru Tiago Forte gives one of their methods a go.
If you'd like to give somebody guidance on how to write like yourself, or Agatha Christie or whoever, then you can get ChatGPT to analyse your writing and figure out a detailed how-to for anybody who wants to sound the same. It's handy for prolific writers like Forte, but also companies, editorial offices, journalists and anybody else who sometimes needs a kick up the arse instead of looking at a blank page.
2. Marketing to old people
Old teenagers according to Leonardo.ai
As time marches interminably on, the year 2030 will mark a turning point:
Every Baby Boomer will be over 65
The first Gen Xers will reach 65
The first Millennials will turn 50
Famed marketing blogger Brian Clark has started a series of articles all about how this is going to change the economy, especially how advertising will work. I recommend this piece as a starting point.
I'm not sure what the state of the Internet will be like by 2030, but if web3 is going to be playing a big role, maybe old geezers like me will be sitting on Discord.
3. Declutter before you die
Keeping with the ageing population theme, I learned about "Swedish death cleaning" this week while listening to an audiobook. It means decluttering your stuff so that nobody has to deal with it after you die.
The concept has become so popular that there's even a lifestyle TV show about it where a group of Swedes help people do it.
That’s it for this week. Thanks for reading. And if you found any of those links a bit depressing, this might cheer you up.
